Most of us are permanently attached to our mobile phones, so taking that into consideration, being able to reach out to your staff, clients or customers by SMS text must be an effective communication tool. Delivering your 160 character message into someone's hand is bound to have a higher read rate than an email among many.
Here are some ideas of what you could be sending:
There are a few ways that you can put together the list of numbers you want to send a message to:
Any list you create will be saved as a group. So, for example, you'll be able to separate staff from client lists, or client lists from suppliers. You can then come back to any of your saved lists and send messages to them.
Whoever you're sending messages you will be able to provide an option to opt out (it's important to give people the choice).
Your message has got to fit within 160 characters. We've already written an opt out message for you to include, so that will mean your message has to be shorter, but this is the art of getting to the point.
If you're really organised, you can get everything set up and ready to be sent but schedule it to actually be sent at a later time that day, or even another day in the future.
All your messages will be sent via direct connections to the UK networks for greater reliability.
Once your message is ready to be sent we validate each of your contacts to confirm the number is a mobile and that they haven't previously opted out. We'll create a log to show you how many messages you're sending and then deduct that amount from your credits as they're sent. You can always come back to the SMS message logs at a later stage to get reports of what's gone out (and what's coming in - see below). In those reports you'll see a status of the messages that have gone out. These can include, for example, 'Delivered to Handset' or 'Rejected from Handset', which are indicated by a tick or a cross.

If you send your messages as if they've come from a mobile number, replies go direct to that mobile number.
If you decide to send a Bulk SMS as if from one of our Non-geographic numbers, unfortunately any replies will never be received.
But, finally, if sent as if from one of our Geographic numbers, any replies can be read online on myTTNC or you can have them forwarded to your email or mobile.
